A new poll has revealed that stressed workers would rather spend less time in the office than win the lottery. The survey shows that around one in six people work more than 60 hours a week, compared to one in eight two years ago. Three out of four do overtime but only a third are entitled to extra pay or time off in lieu. The survey of 500 workers by the DTI and Management Today magazine found the most stressed employees were 35-40 and male. Twenty per cent of men have seen a doctor because of stress at work – as have a quarter of all men and women over 40.
